Lindsay Cahill

Dr. Lindsay S. Cahill is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador, with cross-appointments in Radiology and the School of Pharmacy.
She earned her Ph.D. from McMaster University, focusing on solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) studies of lithium-ion battery materials. Following postdoctoral fellowships at the University of Warwick and the University of Toronto, Dr. Cahill served as a Research Associate at the Mouse Imaging Centre at the Hospital for Sick Children, where she utilized biomedical imaging to study mouse models of human disease.
Her current research explores advanced imaging techniques to investigate pregnancy and brain development, including the effects of environmental exposures like micro- and nanoplastics on pregnancy outcomes. In 2020 she received the Banting Research Foundation Discovery Award and was recognized as a 2022 Future Leader in Canadian Brain Research by the Brain Canada Foundation.
