Dr. Julie Claycomb is a Professor in the Department of Molecular Genetics at the University of Toronto.
She earned her Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where she studied DNA replication mechanisms in Drosophila. In 2011, she established her laboratory at the University of Toronto, where her research integrates chromatin biology, small RNA pathways, and gene expression regulation.
Dr. Claycomb served as the Tier II Canada Research Chair in Small RNA Biology from 2012 to 2022. Her work has significantly advanced the understanding of small RNA-mediated gene regulation and its implications for development and fertility.
