David White
As the Director, Campaign and Major Gifts, David is responsible for the planning and implementation of the Gairdner Foundation’s comprehensive five-year fundraising campaign. This historic endeavour will celebrate excellence, convene leaders, promote science literacy, and advance talent development efforts across a wide range of audiences of future scientists. In this role, David’s responsibilities include establishing and supporting a volunteer Campaign Cabinet, implementing annual and long-range plans to cultivate, solicit and steward major gift donors, and raising the profile of the Gairdner Awards and the importance of science to the future of Canada and the world.
Prior to joining the Gairdner Foundation, David was the Vice-President, Philanthropy at MS Canada. In this role, David led Major, Annual, Legacy and Corporate Giving programs, raising significant funds for research and programs to positively impact individuals and families living with MS. Previously, David worked with some of Canada’s leading healthcare, education and cultural organizations including the Aga Khan Museum, the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy, the Markham Stouffville Hospital and the Royal Ontario Museum.
David graduated from the University of Guelph with an Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree and a Master of Library and Information Science from Western University.
